Independence Day Adventures

March 6th is Ghanaian Independence Day. We celebrated by going to Jubilee Park in Takoradi to watch the parade. It was a fun parade, it lasted thirty minutes or less.

Sometimes random parades start in the street. As the music comes, more and more people join the parade until it becomes huge. There were two or maybe three that happened on Independence Day, but they sometimes happen without any reason. People hurry and put on their costumes and then run to join the parade.

In this picture, you can see the costumes better.

In the evening our friend Prince took us to Busua beach. It was about a forty five minute drive. It was worth it! Busua Beach is very beautiful.

  1. Spontaneous parades? Sounds like something you ladies would have started!
